Biblioteca Pública Arús is deeply committed with the protection the environment. Therefore, it follows a number of eco-friendly guidelines designed to improve its environmental sustainability, and which have granted it the Garantia de Qualitat Ambiental national seal of approval, as issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
These are the main actions the BPA undertakes.
100% of the building’s light is class B or higher, or else LED.
Air conditioning, both cold and heat, are compartmentalized and used according to the precise needs of each area.
All IT equipment are officially labelled as eco-friendly.
There is a strict protocol of recycling and waste management, both towards common and dangerous waste.
The institution is striving for a gradually paper-free communication system in order to minimize waste and optimize its digital resources.
Faucets are limited to 8l/min, as the DGQA recommends.
A double-discharge system is used on most of the building’s toilets.
All stationary is preferably bought in its eco-friendly brand, particularly paper.
Most suppliers and subcontractors follow themselves their own environmental guidelines such as ISO14001.
Disposable items usage is minimized in favour of long-term use.
All personnel have been briefed in the importance and capability of public transport commuting to reach their workplace.
